BUS RIDERS / ASSIGNMENT

Any changes in after-school transportation must be in writing.  Unless deemed an emergency, e-mails or faxes are not accepted. Changes may not be made over the phone.

Students will ride the same bus each day.  Students who need to ride a different bus must bring a note from home and take it to the office. The note must state:

  • Name of student;
  • Date of the change;
  • Name and address where student is going;
  • Signature of parent or guardian.

Teachers hand deliver the “Change in Transportation” form to the bus driver.

Student expectations:

Follow behavior expectations at all times.

  • Remain seated at all times.
  • Follow bus driver instructions.

As a consequence of not following bus passenger expectations, students will be referred to the principal for disciplinary action.  A student may have bus-riding privileges suspended for a time chosen by the principal and bus driver if behavior concerns continue to be a problem and present a safety concern to fellow riders.

WALKERS

Students who always walk/ride a bike to school from home must have a written note on file in the office.

Bike riders will be assigned a parking spot/slot at the school bike rack located at the front entrance of the building.

CAR RIDERS

For safety reasons, student DROP-OFF/PICK UP is in the back of the building at the cafeteria doors.

Please drop your child off NO EARLIER THAN 7:15AM and NO LATER THAN 7:35AM so he or she is on time and in the classroom by 7:40AM.

If you are the first car in line, please pull all the way up to the corner of the sidewalk closest to the gymnasium to allow as many cars as possible to pull in behind you.  Even if you are the only vehicle at the door at the moment, lines form very quickly.

Pull up closely to the car in front of you.

If it is necessary to get out of your car, please pull into the lot in the back by the cafeteria and park to assist your child into the building.  Our staff is readily available to assist children in and out of vehicles.

DO NOT pass cars that are releasing/picking up children in front of you.

Drive slowly and watch for pedestrians.

For safety reasons, dropping students off at adjacent businesses or residences is never permissible.

Students arriving in the building after 7:40AM must be signed in by a parent/guardian in the school office.

Students will be in the cafeteria in the afternoon until 2:30PM and after that they can be picked up in the front office.
